Bariloche Treks

Treks to/from & between the Refugios and other Bariloche treks

There are many different options for trekking in Bariloche, from short walks & one day hikes to multi day treks. The majority of trails interlink the Refugios (mountain huts) and for ease of use I have grouped the treks with the mountain huts that they connect. The famous Nahuel Huapi Traverse links the four of the refugios: Frey, Jakob, Laguna Negra and Lopez. My recomendation for the best one day trek would be 'Frey por el Filo' located under the Refugio Frey, below.

Refuio Lopez is closer to the road than any other refugio. It's also the shortest walk in, but dont be fooled, it's steep climb from the outset, but you will be rewared with fantastic views once you climb above the treeline and even better views if you continue the ascent to Pico Turista about an hour above Refugio Lopez.
